More Information

Peru has become one of the world's leading suppliers of certified Organic and Fair Trade coffees, with the majority of production coming from smallholder farmers cultivating coffee on family-owned farms along the eastern slopes of the Andes Mountains. High elevations, fertile soils, abundant rainfall, and cool temperatures allow coffee cherries to mature slowly, producing dense beans with refined sweetness, balanced acidity, and exceptional cup clarity.

Much of Peru's specialty coffee success has been driven by strong cooperatives and producer organizations that invest in farmer education, quality improvement, environmental stewardship, and market access. These collaborative efforts have strengthened Peru's reputation for producing consistently high-quality coffees while supporting the long-term sustainability of rural coffee-growing communities.

As Peru's specialty coffee sector continues to evolve, producers are placing greater emphasis on traceability, differentiated processing methods, and exceptional microlots. This continued focus on innovation allows ICT to offer coffees that combine the consistency Peru is known for with the distinctive character sought after by today's specialty roasters.
