More Information

Mexico's mountainous terrain, volcanic soils, and diverse microclimates create ideal conditions for producing balanced, approachable coffees with refined sweetness and excellent cup clarity. Chiapas, Veracruz, and Oaxaca are among the country's most recognized growing regions, each contributing distinctive flavor characteristics while maintaining the clean profile that has made Mexican coffee a favorite among specialty roasters.

Much of Mexico's coffee is grown by smallholder farmers using traditional shade-grown cultivation methods that promote biodiversity, improve soil health, and support long-term environmental sustainability. These farming practices, combined with careful harvesting and washed processing, consistently produce coffees with chocolate, nut, citrus, and mild fruit characteristics that perform well as both single-origin offerings and blend components.

Mexico is also one of the world's leading producers of certified Organic coffee, with many producer organizations maintaining long-standing commitments to sustainable agriculture and responsible land management. This combination of quality, consistency, and strong certification programs makes Mexico a cornerstone of ICT's sourcing portfolio.
