Our Sourcing Relationships in India

  • ICT works with trusted exporting partners throughout India's primary coffee-growing regions to source distinctive coffees that emphasize consistency, quality, and traceability.

More Information

Unlike many coffee-producing countries, India's coffee is traditionally cultivated beneath dense shade trees alongside crops such as pepper, cardamom, vanilla, and other spices. This biodiverse growing environment supports healthy ecosystems while contributing to the balanced body and subtle spice character often found in Indian coffees.

ICT's primary offering from India is Monsooned Malabar, one of the world's most distinctive coffee styles. During the monsooning process, green coffee is spread in open-sided warehouses along India's western coast and exposed to seasonal monsoon winds and humidity for several months. This controlled exposure causes the beans to swell, develop their characteristic pale golden color, and produce an exceptionally smooth cup with low acidity, heavy body, and earthy sweetness.

Because of its rich texture and mellow profile, Monsooned Malabar is a favorite among roasters looking to enhance body, crema, and complexity in espresso blends, while also offering a truly unique single-origin experience.
