More Information
Honduras has become one of the world's leading specialty coffee origins, producing coffees celebrated for their sweetness, balance, and versatility. The country's mountainous terrain, fertile soils, abundant rainfall, and high elevations create ideal growing conditions that allow coffee cherries to mature slowly, resulting in dense beans with refined sweetness, balanced acidity, and excellent cup clarity.
Much of Honduras' success has been driven by strong cooperatives and producer organizations that provide farmers with agronomic training, quality control support, processing infrastructure, and improved market access. This collaborative approach has helped thousands of smallholder producers improve both cup quality and long-term farm sustainability while strengthening Honduras' reputation as a premier specialty coffee origin.
Today, renowned producing regions such as Santa Bárbara, Copán, Comayagua, Montecillos, and La Paz continue to supply coffees ranging from dependable regional offerings to highly traceable microlots, making Honduras one of ICT's cornerstone sourcing origins.
