Our Sourcing Relationships in Ethiopia

ICT has built long-term relationships with quality-focused exporters and producer partners across Ethiopia.

Our sourcing program includes coffees from Testi Coffee, Adulina PLC, ENITCO (Ethio-Nippon Technical Company), Mintu Export, and Diligent Green, along with respected washing stations throughout Yirgacheffe, Sidamo, and Guji.

We have proudly partnered with Diligent Green for Five Years, and continue to work with suppliers who share our commitment to quality, traceability, and long-term sustainability. These partnerships provide access to consistent regional lots that showcase the unique character of Ethiopia's diverse growing regions.

More Information

Ethiopia is the only coffee-producing country where the majority of coffee is still grown from indigenous heirloom varieties rather than a handful of commercially developed cultivars. This remarkable genetic diversity contributes to the wide range of flavor profiles found throughout the country and is one of the reasons Ethiopian coffees continue to set the benchmark for complexity in specialty coffee.

Unlike many producing countries where coffee is grown on large estates, most Ethiopian coffee comes from smallholder farmers cultivating just a few hectares of land. Cherries are typically delivered to centralized washing stations, where lots from neighboring communities are carefully processed and sorted.

The combination of high elevations, traditional farming practices, and meticulous processing creates the floral aromatics, vibrant acidity, and layered fruit character that have made Ethiopian coffees some of the most sought-after in the world.
